The principle of a home-from-home atmosphere at Total Care is carried through the extensive social and therapy services which are available. It is recognised that not only do such activities help maintain life quality, they can also help to reinstate activities that through circumstance, residents may have had to relinquish prior to arriving at Total Care.
Social therapy and activity is provided by two full time staff members ably supported by external and local participants. Residents may choose to take part in any of the activities which include games, arts & crafts, music and periods of reminiscing. A pamper session may be preferred with hand massages and manicures or a resident may take advantage of the weekly visit from the hairdresser or get involved with day trips and events.
External volunteers and assistants also play an important role in enhancing resident’s lives. Bingo sessions and monthly parties are complemented by choirs, musicians and entertainment on varying themes. local Any clergy from any faith are welcome at Total Care, particularly where a resident has a previous or long association.
The social and therapy department is automatically notified when a new client is admitted in order that an invitation is extended for them to join in as much or as little as they prefer.
